Derrick Henry lead the way on the ground for Alabama with 36 carries for 158 yards and 3 touchdowns, while tight end OJ Howard caught 5 passes for 208 yards and two scores. Deshaun Watson put forth a valiant effort in defeat as he threw for 405 yards and 4 touchdowns to go along with 73 yards rushing. The victory was Alabama’s fourth national title in the past seven seasons, solidifying head coach Nick Saban’s position as one of the all-time great college football coaches.
